When I use AHCI_3rdParty_eSATA.kext that SATA device is not recognised at all in the system profiler. If you want to remove purgeable files on your Mac, you need to use a third-party app. #HOW TO CONFIGURE ASMEDIA 106X FOR A MAC MAC#So not sure why it's preferring the 1062 entry over the 1061 since both are present in the kext. The easiest way to remove purgeable space on Mac is the most exciting yet compelling part in the whole article. ![]() And reading the chip itself on the card it says ASM1061. ![]() When I use AHCIPortInjector.kext the SATA device is recognised in system profiler as an ASM1062. I've attempted using two kexts (attached) AHCI_3rdParty_eSATA.kext and AHCIPortInjector.kext I haven't tested the internal ports as I don't need these. However, I cannot get any drive to be recognised in the eSATA ports. System profiler sees the card like all the others as a "Generic AHCI Controller" with AHCI version 1.20 supported. I've switched the jumpers (not sure which position is the 1,2,3) so I've made it so that one internal and one external will operate to test the card. Now the second ASMedia controller I haven't been able to get to work. I know it automatically worked OOB for my NVME2 drives connected to the motherboard, But to enable Trim on an SSD 860 EVO I needed to submit the terminal command: Is this a possible AHCI version firmware issue? Is booting ever possible from these controllers?ģ) TRIM was disabled in system profile. the Maximus doesn't recognise it as a startup option. ![]() #HOW TO CONFIGURE ASMEDIA 106X FOR A MAC WINDOWS#I imagine this could and should be a newer version? 1.2 or 1.31? If it should be updated, is this something only able to be flashed from a Windows OS?Ģ) It can't be used as a boot option. However, a few things don't seem perfect.ġ) the AHCI version is 1.0. Speeds seem good (350R/400W on an SSD 80R/W on a 5400 HDD) The 1st Marvell actually works OOB in Mac OSX. However, I wanted to add eSATA ports for some older drive enclosures I own, and some extra internal SATA ports as I've used all the SATA ports on the Motherboard. #HOW TO CONFIGURE ASMEDIA 106X FOR A MAC CODE#The hack is running stable no issues on 10.4.2 with an i7 8700k ASUS Maximus X Code as iMac 18,3 2 Internal/ 2 External Ports (selectable by jumpers) 4 Internal Ports.Ģnd runs off the ASMedia ASM1061 chipset. The application of ASM3241 includes Motherboard, Desktop PC, Notebooks, Workstations, Servers, Add-in cards, PCI Express based embedded platform.Okay So I have two PCIe controller cards, both 3rd party, unbranded from eBay.ġst runs off the Marvell 88SE92xx chipset. #HOW TO CONFIGURE ASMEDIA 106X FOR A MAC DRIVER#It uses advance process with low voltage supply, following standard PCI Express/USB Link power management and advance chip power management to reduce total power consumption efficiently under idle/standby state.ĪSM3241 integrates ASMedia self-designed PCI Express/SuperSpeed USB/USB2.0 PHY, supporting in box driver of Microsoft® Windows and various Linux kernels. It also supports backward compatible with legacy USB function and devices, compliant with USB Attach SCSI Protocol revision 1.0, supporting the function of debugport on USB3.2 port.ĪSMedia ASM3241 also supports the function of Multiple INs to achieve fully utilization rate of 20Gbps data rate, taking advantage of the available bandwidth of USB3.2 Gen2 x2 bus.ĪSM3241 supports one USB3.2 20Gbps port and perform trusting high speed bandwidth with PCI Express Gen3 x2. #HOW TO CONFIGURE ASMEDIA 106X FOR A MAC SERIAL#The application of ASM3242 includes Motherboard, Desktop PC, Notebooks, Workstations, Servers, Add-in cards, PCI Express based embedded platform.ĪSMedia ASM3241 is a Universal Serial Bus xHCI host controller, bridging PCI Express to USB3.2 20Gbps, compliant with USB3.2 Specification Revision 1.0 and Intel eXtensible Host Controller Interface specification revision 1.1.
